Angus M. Pearson BSc Hons MRICS FCIArb
Gus has almost 30 years in the industry in the UK and overseas. His work is predominantly in resolving disputes and contentious issues. He has acted in over 200 successful Adjudications as Party Representative. Gus is an RICS accredited Mediatior, an Adjudicator and Expert Witness. He is an advocate of dispute avoidance. Away from the office, Gus enjoys socialising, theatre and the Edinburgh Festival.
A Martin Vevers MRICS MCIArb
Martin is approaching 40 years in the industry. Martin Acts as Contract Administrator, Expert Witness and as Party Representative in Disputes including arbitration. His experise in stonework, conservation and restoration projects is unsurpassed. Among Martin's many extra curricular activities, he is a keen apiarist and like the day job, spends time managing Bees.
Len C H Bunton FRICS FCIArb HonFRIAS
Len is one of the UK's most appointed and distinguished Adjudicators. His career has been dedicated to preventing or resolving disputes, and saving businesses. He has mentored many practitioners over the years and enjoys delivering training seminars and engaging with participants. Len lobbies and influences government on improving payment procedures and remains a force for good in the industry. On the rare occasions when Len is not immersed in his work, he enjoys his family, travelling, and is a self-confessed golf-nut.
Ian Taylor BSc Hons MRICS
Ian was welcomed to the firm in 2018. With a background in surveying and commercial management in the UK and Australia of over 15 years, Ian tackles a multiplicity of issues from contract interpretation and drafting, changes, claims and getting our Clients paid. A dedicated professional, he assists Parties in Adjudication cases and is currently undergoing training with CIArb. At the weekend, Ian rises even higher; mountain biking, hill walking and staying fit, whilst still enjoying a hearty social life.
Gordon D. Carroll BSc Hons
Head of Planning
Gordon has been with Fortis since 2015. Having graduated in Building Engineering in 2000, he rose up the ranks with Contractors and was a former site manager. He has spent over a decade in project planning, and regularly assists Clients in claim preparation and in Adjudication submissions requiring complex delay and critical path analysis. He also takes on the planning role for a number of small clients from pre-commencement through to completion. Gordon is currently undergoing CIArb training. Spending time with his young family, which also keeps him fit, is Gordon's favourite passtime.
Victoria Pearson BA Hons MBA PhD
Victoria helped set up Fortis with Gus. She is responsible for all aspects of financial management and administration of the business, and keeps the machinery functioning smoothly. Victoria also assists in Contractual Claims where here forensic accountancy skills are put to good use in ascertaining overheads and examining costs incurred in damages claims. Victoria loves to travel and has a particular love of Spain - climate, cuisine and the Mediterranean lifestyle.
